the Prophet of Islam as Aisha al-Siddiqah. Moreover, she was still very young at the time. As a result, she was largely free from what psychologists call conditioning. She was at an age when she could listen with an open and unprejudiced mind, readily absorbing what she heard and making it part of her intellectual makeup. Aisha was also exceptionally intelligent and possessed a remarkable ability to grasp and retain knowledge. This enabled her to grasp the full depth of the Prophet’s teachings. Although the Prophet often spoke in the style of jawami’ al-kalim—using the fewest words to convey the deepest and most comprehensive meanings. Aisha, through her remarkable power of understanding and inference, comprehended their wider implications and preserved them in her memory. It was this unique opportunity to learn directly from the Prophet of Islam that made Aisha al-Siddiqah so distinguished in religious understanding and insight. After the Prophet’s death, even the most eminent Companions would consult her and benefit from her deep understanding of the wisdom embodied in his teachings. (Aurat Memar e Insaniyat)
