No response to vain words After the conquest of Makkah, Abu Sufyan’s wife, Hind bint Utbah came to offer her allegiance to the Prophet as a Muslim. The Prophet recited to her the words of the oath to which she repeated. When the Prophet came to the words, “You will not kill your own offspring,” Hind retorted, “You have killed them all on the field of Badr; you have left us none to kill.” The Prophet did not react in any way to Hind’s rebuke; he simply accepted her allegiance.
