To determine the purpose of life is, in short, the effort to make life meaningful. It must surely, therefore, be one which is in accordance with man’s unique status. It must be one which leads man on the path to success and progress in terms of his true nature. Celebrated English writer, Gilbert K. Chesterton, summarized it thus: Man is an exception, whatever else he is. If he is not the image of God, then he is a disease of the dust. o Is the presence of human life on Earth just a chance occurrence? Is there a past and a future of human beings? What is the purpose of humans in this world? Read Maulana Wahiduddin Khan discuss these and other related questions according to Islamic viewpoint in his insightful booklet Man: An Islamic Perspective Now available for free download at www.spiritofislam.co.in/spiritnew/man.pdf
