religious as well. Due to my parents’ encouragement and also my willingness to receive higher education, I spent most of the time of my life in educational institutes. Right now I am an electrical engineer. I am part of a circle that is oriented towards technology, and sometimes I came across arguments from people of my religious community who would express a bad image about technology, and then I would see the same people drawing benefits from the technology they would speak badly about. So this scenario confused me: I thought do real teachings of Islam refrain us from becoming part of the ongoing advancements in technology. Also, I saw many of my colleagues and friends far from the teachings of Islam. Now, from various religious groups we often get pamphlets to spread among common people to teach them about Islam. But the content of these pamphlets is too tough and I myself get confused and question how the other person will understand the beauty of the Islamic message. When the other person is not a religious scholar or is not a frequent reader of Islamic studies, so how will he or she understand the content properly. Writing styles have changed during the past several years. Researchers have been trying to figure out appropriate size of a book, the length of a message and how much time a reader should spend on a specific topic. But many of our Islamic books were written years ago. Those books were the golden heritage for that period of time and for people of that age. The writers of these books wrote taking into consideration the scenarios of that time and the mentality of the people of their time. Today we face a problem when we force our young generation to study the same content that was written many years back to understand Islam. This has been my way of thinking, although I felt that I may be wrong since I have expertise in technology and not in Islamic studies. But today after reading Al-Risala, my thoughts have gained more clarity. Each and every topic, every page, every passage of Al-Risala has answered to my questions. Some of my questions were such that I did not have words to express the confusion of my mind. But this magazine not only gave me the right answers but also made my questions clearer. I started reading the first page, then second and I was not able to stop myself from continuing to read. I was so excited and happy. Whenever I find some answer to my vague thought, I would rush to my parents and repeat the line from the magazine that Maulana Sahab had written. One line that I would like to specifically mention here which I liked the most in the above context: “Islam ki talimat ko asri zehn kay liyay qabile fehm banana.” Maulana sahab has precisely described each topic. I am really thankful to him. I request Maulana Sahab and everyone in this group to pray to Allah to show me the right path and give me the strength to make significant contribution in spreading Islam all around the world.
