▷ I used to consider religion as more of an external change in society than an inner discovery. Maulana was the person who taught me that religious journey begins as a discovery by the mind and proceeds to the development of a purified personality. I never thought that complaining over oppression, injustice, discrimination and accusing others of evil in the world are negative aspects of thinking which deprive us of all virtues of positive thinking. After reading and listening to Maulana, I have tried to do away with negative thinking. Doing this I have realized that I am very calm. Earlier, I used to stick to a literal and technical interpretation of scriptures. Maulana taught me that we have to learn to read and understand scripture by understanding the nature of Man, and that there are seas of lessons in the Quran for someone prepared to contemplate. I used to think that meditation is the path to spirituality. Maulana taught me that contemplation is the path to spirituality. He is the one person who completely changed my worldview. (Mohammad Talha, Lahore) ▷ Recently, a traffic warden stopped me for not having driving license. Instead of getting angry, I went the next day to procure my license. I realized that I was driving without having permission from the state, although I am answerable to God in regard to following state rules. This major shift in my attitude came after listening to Maulana's lectures. Second, I learned to practice avoidance of confrontation whenever there is a conflict of interest. Third, I learned that spirituality lies not in meditation or yoga, rather it is attained through observation and contemplation of things around us, for example, trees and their mechanism of growth, the variety of products yielded by the same soil. We will be setting up a separate organization, or NGO, only for the purpose of Dawah work.
